Here are some notes about we talked about.
Hes was welcomed into the role of our treasurer.
Newark Transition intends to be involved within the local community. From amongst our group people will want to tackle various issues. Subgroups will form to deal with:
Growth Point – as it is likely to happen we did to work with them to educate them how to be more environmentally friendly.
Wind Turbines – educate people on energy use, find out more about them.
Food – there is alot happening in this area so please join this subgroup if you are interested in food issues. Also can we have an input into reducing vandalism on Newark allotments?
Recycling - could have an action day on packaging at Waitrose, raise awareness on silver bins, not enough recycling for businesses.
There was a discussion about how our group might be involved in forthcoming local events such as Newark Day, the County Show and the Carnival.
